BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Court documents are revealing new details about what led to a standoff between a woman and state police in Bedford County over the weekend. According to a criminal complaint filed by state police, 57-year-old Catherine Imler is facing charges related to burglary, criminal trespassing and theft. Troopers say the incident began around 1:30 p.m. Saturday when a man was washing dishes in his Bloomfield Township home and he spotted Imler, who was completely naked, approaching his back door.

Three construction workers killed in crash on I-83 in York Co., road reopened

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — UPDATE | Pennsylvania State Police confirmed that three construction workers were killed in Tuesday morning's crash. Investigators say that a box truck, driven by a 24-year-old, crashed into a construction vehicle in an active work zone. The crash caused the box truck to strike the three workers on the shoulder of the road. Police say the workers were pronounced dead on scene. Southbound lanes have since reopened.

Missing Punxsy man found dead in Allegheny River

ARMSTRONG CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to a release from the Armstrong County coroner's office, a Punxsutawney man was found dead in the Allegheny River on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities say 38-year-old Nathan Paul Lauer had been missing since last Saturday. Lauer was pronounced dead at the scene by Armstrong County coroner Brian Myers, and an autopsy is pending. State police and the coroner's office are still investigating the incident, the release notes.

Pittsburgh Steelers Special Teams coach suffers torn rotator cuff following hit on sideline

Pittsburgh (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Steelers special teams coach Danny Smith reportedly suffered a torn rotator cuff after taking a hit on the sidelines at the end of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. Steelers' insider Brooke Pryor reported Thursday that Smith tore his rotator cuff in three places. "I've been hit a lot, and been hit hard," Smith told reporters. "I got a lot of metal in my body over that.

Powerful, deadly drug that can be absorbed through skin found in Cambria County

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials are warning the public about the presence of a powerful drug in Cambria County after a man overdosed in December. Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees held a press conference Friday morning after receiving the toxicology results from a death Dec. 27 in Jackson Township. Lees says the results showed that the 43-year-old man died of a carfentanil overdose. Lees described carfentanil as a synthetic opioid primarily used as a tranquilizer to sedate large animals, including elephants.
