DES MOINES, Iowa (KGAN) — Some of the most viral footage from Tuesday's tornado outbreak, was of several wind turbines in southwest Iowa being toppled by a powerful tornado. The day after, the energy company, MidAmerican, responded to the damage, calling it the worst damage their system has suffered in 20 years of operating wind turbines. Central City home deemed total loss after late night fire

Multiple emergency crews were on scene of a house fire Friday night on Bunker Hill Road in Central City, Somerset County, according to Central City Fire Chief Dale Russian. Russian said the call came in just after 10:30 p.m. and that the home was an unoccupied building with a detached garage that was fully involved when crews arrived on scene. Officials said that the fire rekindled about an hour after being put out the first time, with wind spreading the fire to the garage, and that crews struggled putting out the blaze due to the weather and location of the home.

According to the University of Pittsburgh Police Department, 30-year-old Cliff Maloney Jr. faces charges related to raping a substantially impaired person, raping an unconscious victim and aggravated indecent assault. Police say the alleged victim came forward in January of last year. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the woman told police that the assault happened at Pitt-Johnstown in September of 2013.
