Hershey, Pa — On Saturday January 22, the Hershey Bears once again established a new world record in one of the best promotions in sports. The Bears, the oldest and most decorated teams in American Hockey League, collected 52,341 teddy bears and stuffed animals during Saturday's Giant Teddy Bear Toss. The pervious world record was 45,765 collected in 2019.
The world-famous event, held during the hockey game versus the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Johnstown, PA — It’s been more than two months since the Towne Manor Motel in Downtown Johnstown was condemned – displacing dozens of residents.
Officials with the Cambria County Behavioral Health say they worked to find housing for those affected, but one man 6 News spoke with disagrees.
The former resident of the Towne Manor Motel says he has been facing homelessness since he was first evicted, but an official within the Cambria County Behavioral Health says the city has helped find many former motel residents housing.
Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — Police in Indiana County say a local mother is behind bars following an investigation into the death of her 9-month-old infant son.
Authorities say on January 6, officers were dispatched to a residence in Indiana Borough for reports on an unresponsive infant child.
Police say the child reportedly did not have a pulse and was not breathing. According to the affidavit, police say the infant regained a pulse at the hospital and was later transferred to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Cambria County, PA — The solar eclipse is almost here. Local physicians say, despite over 90% percent of the sun expected to be blocked by the moon, people viewing the solar eclipse from our region should be wearing glasses every time they look at it.

EDMOND, OKLA. (KOKH) — A school district in Oklahoma is doing damage control after a video sent to KOKH showed young students licking other people's toes as part of a fundraising event. "It was surprising," an anonymous student told KOKH. "I didn't think they were going to do all that. I was just shocked. I didn't really have like a feeling. Harrisburg, PA — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced on Wednesday that they have certified a new state record catfish. The PFBC says that 34-year-old Jonathan Pierce of Philadelphia was fishing from the bank of the Schuylkill River at East Falls on May 24, 2020, when he reeled in a massive 56-pound, 3 oz. flathead catfish. "The best way to describe it is like a torpedo," said Pierce, who was accompanied by his girlfriend, Angelina Wilson, who witnessed the catch.
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Residents in Centre County should expect traffic detours and parking changes in downtown Bellefonte as work is soon scheduled to begin on replacing the retaining walls at the county courthouse.
Plans call for work to begin within the next few weeks on the north side wall, which will close East High Street next to the courthouse.
That phase will take up to six months to complete and then next spring, weather permitting, the work moves to the other side of the courthouse.
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — An almost decade-old "missing persons" case in Blair County has been given new life this year thanks to the power of social media.
But family members of the local woman, who has been missing since 2012, are still hoping for closure.
6 News spoke with her mom, cousin, and brother, who say it's now up to the public to help solve the mystery.
It was almost nine years ago when Fawn Marie Mountain disappeared without a trace and the community is still working to find her.
